mane 'n tail

its offical i have now fell in love with mane 'n tail.even though i have only been using it for a couple of weeks, i really like it.i have only been using the conditioner.but i can also use it as a leave-in.i also use it to style my hair and the curls have been coming out very nice,and my hair is really soft.i think when i run out of my other hair products i will switch to using the whole product line of mane 'n tail. i have looked on you tube and i have seen so many product reviews saying how they absolutely love this product. so hopefully i will be happy with this product as much as they were.

wearing my hair in transitioning styles!:)

since school started today was my first wearing my hair in a protective style.i can honestly say i will like wearing my hair like this. today i got so much positive feedback about my hair,and it made me feel pretty good.do you like my hair style?
When i took my braids out i saw alot of new growth and i was so excited,all i did was play in it.also when i took my braids out i started using another conditioner called mane n' tail.i love this conditioner.it is so much easier to detangle my hair and it leaves my hair so soft.on top of that it smells good.i also started using cantu shea butter leave in conditioner.yesterday was my first day trying it.i like it for the most part.it made my curls more defined with this style.i also love the smell of this product.from now on when ever i run out of a product i will switch it up to see what products i and my hair likes.:)

6 months!!!

OMG!!!! i am so excited.i made to 6 months without having a relaxer.i can honestly say i never thought i would go this long without having a relaxer.with all the negative feedback i  have been getting, its just like ugh why dont i just get a perm,so i dont have to hear these people.but like honestly,its my hair you didnt give it to me i do what i want with my hair when i want to.have you guys been getting any negative feedback? i even heard my friend telling my mom that she doesnt want me to go without relaxers. but what they dont understand is that im trying to make my hair healthier and i want to have longer hair like i did when i was younger,and i want to be able to just put my hair in a bun or ponytail and not have to spend 30 mins trying to figure out what i am going to do with my hair.im about ready to cut the relaxed ends off, but i dont think i would be too  happy because my hair will be short shorter than the length im used to.

go tos

braid out(rod set):this was my church look. i really liked this look but not as much as the other.i really liked the two twist i put in the front that made a heart but you really cant see it.
Flat twist out:i had just learned how to do flat twist.and i thought i did a pretty good job.i will also use this as my go to style.

     Braids(singles):i love braids.i can wear them any time and i can also have different styles with them and they are just so easy to deal with.i dont have to style my hair every week. i can also leave them in for 2-3 months.

    Bantu knot out: This was the first protective style i have ever tried and i loved it i can definitely see my self using this as a go to hair style.i just love it and i can use any hair accessory.hair bow from beauty supply store.
    twist out:this was my first time trying this.i took a chance and decided to do this style for school.so if it came out wrong i would have been looking a mess at school.but it came out pretty cute, and my mom finally said she like one of my hair styles.:)

    Questions?

    I have joined many hair websites,and I have been talking to many other transitioners and natural that have asked me these questions:
    *Quote;
    You are as strong and healthy as your hair.

    *What are currently your favorite products?;

    _shea moisture

    (curl enhancing smoothie):Water Based Moisturizer

    (Curl&Shine):Shampoo

    (Hold&Shine Moisture Mist):daily moisturizer

    _kinky curly

    (knot today):leave in conditioner
    _suave
    (naturals):coconut conditioner
    *How often do you wash you hair?;
    i cowash once a week
    use shampoo once a month
     *Has going natural changed the way you feel about yourself? If so, how?
    The whole process has taught me so much about myself. It has taught me patience I swear....because the transitioning process alone can be so frustrating, so going natural has definitely taught me how to be more patient. This process has also made me feel even more proud to be black. Watching all those Youtube videos of women who have decided to take this step, and researching about natural hair, joining a few forums here and there...I have certainly been able to embrace my natural hair despite the negative comments i may get now then about 'punishing' my hair as they say. In a way i would say i feel....'FREE' . To do whatever i want with my hair..and capable of do anything i set my mind to because this Journey was not and easy one..nor was an easy decision to make.*What has helped you most during your transitioning process?; Reading all the fourms and watching youtube videos of the girls cutting the rest of there permed hair off themselves,it just makes me so anxious to get all this permed hair out of my head(but i wont be cutting it out any time soon).

    Taking me,a 15 year-old,SERIOUS!

    Ok so i know alot of yall read my blog and be like, she only 15 what do she know about hair, im not bout to read nothing from no child,or she a child she probably dont know what she wants to eat for dinner so what makes her think she can write stuff about hair when she aint been around long enough to know about hair.
    yea im 15 teen and i know im still a child, but i actually took the time to do my research,keep a journal, and i actually have the courage to do what i have my mind set on. So many people are supporting me, which makes me want this even more. Some of my moms friends told me, "if you can go natural then i can", "can i adopt you because i just love that you have the courage to go natural in highschool and not care about what anybody thinks". Plenty of people have told me that i just need to get a perm and quit tryna be different, but i would much rather be different than be like everyone else, if i dont look like them then why should i try to be like them.
    i created this blog to try and get support but also encourage people to be who they are and not become what the hair crack makes them.CURLY, BEAUTIFUL,&FUN.NOT.STRAIGHT,BEAUTIFUL,&BORING/AVERAGE.(IM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE)

    Let me introduce myself, my name is...

    Hey everyone,
      I am 15 years old and I have been getting relaxers in my hair since I was 10.My last relaxer was April13.2011.I have been transitioning for 5months now, and I am currently loving it.I have been doing bantu knot outs, and I love it because my hair is curly.I have always wanted curly hair.Before I got a relaxer my hair was arm pit length, now my hair is chin length and it is very damaged and thin.I recently got a cassia obovata treatment and my hair is now starting to thicken out, and I havent been getting any support from my family except for my grandpa, grandma, and aunt.i have done a whole bunch of research and I still feel I dont have all the research i need, so if you would like give me any of your tips, and any other protective hair styles that you may like and ill let you know how i like it.
    Thank You!!:D
